Ms Chathuri Jayasundera graduated from the University of Kelaniya in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree specializing Microbiology with first class honors. While there, she was interested in applied microbiology with a special focus on environmental microbiology. Currently, she is pursuing her Master’s degree in Biotechnology at the University of Melbourne, Australia with and is also involved in a research project at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute (WEHI) where she investigates the antiprotistal activity of microbial natural products. She joined the department of Bioprocess Technology as a Probationary lecturer in 2016 and since then has been involved in delivering Microbiology and fundamental biology subjects. Ms Jayasundera is accredited for Teaching in Higher Education by the Staff and Educational Development Association, UK. Her research interests are focused on applied microbiology and drug development.
